Our Mission

The 988 task force is guiding the development of the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline in Missouri. The implementation of 988 will increase access to life-saving services and reduce the stigma surrounding suicide and mental health conditions. The 988 task force meets monthly to address planning topics, including the following:

• Ensure statewide and 24/7 coverage for 988 calls, texts, and chats
• Secure funding for 988 centers
• Expand 988 center capacity to answer calls, texts, and chats 
• Support 988 centers to provide follow-up services
• Ensure connection with other community partners such as 911, social services, etc.
• Promote 988 to Missourians
