The Missouri 988 Messaging Champions Initiative is a statewide intiative empowering individuals, organizations, schools, businesses, faith communities, and local leaders to help spread awareness of the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.
This interactive course equips you with knowledge, language, and ready to use messaging tools to confidently share accurate, hopeful, and stigma reducing information about 988 across your community.
As a Missouri 988 Champion, you will:
- Understand how the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline works in Missouri
- Learn why early awareness saves lives
- Gain clear, research informed messaging you can share confidently
- Access customizable materials to promote 988 in your networks
- Help strengthen Missouri’s crisis response system through education and advocacy
988 is more than a phone number. It is a direct connection to trained crisis counselors available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, providing compassionate and confidential support to individuals and families facing emotional distress, mental health challenges, or substance use concerns.
